ISPO China 2008 Winter Show- International Tradeshow for Sports, Fashion and Lifestyle Brands in Asia , held in China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) Beijing , was closed on January 26 th . The CORA demo shop once again caught eyes of the show visitors.
The CORA demo shop was 145 square meters (or 1300 square feet), nearly tripled the size from last year. Each participating brand in the demo shop has its own designated area, and a reception area is also included this year, all to show the retailers a brand-new ourdoor retail concept shop. This year's participating brands included Gregory, Coleman, Patagonia , Cordura, Uvex, and Masters.
On the three-day ISPO China Show, CORA arranged various events for retailers and visitors.
On the first day, CORA was privileged to invite DAVID MATZ, the president of Grassroots Outdoor Alliance, an American outdoor retailers' group, to give the CORA member retailers a presentation regarding the operations of American outdoor retail shops. Two Chinese retail shop owners were also invited by CORA to talk about their success stories. Chinese retailers were able to see the similarities and the differences between outdoor retail business in China and U.S. as well as drawing up success stories of their domestic and international peers.
On the second day, the appearance of two DAKAR Rally motorcyclists is one of the highlights of the show. Mr. Chen Jianguo and Wei Guganhui, represented China in the DAKAR Rally as the very first Chinese motorcycle team. Worth a special mention is that COLEMAN sponsored the two athletes with a complete line of outdoor equipments. The audience welcomed the two heroes with warm applause. Chen and Wei talked about their experience of this DAKAR Rally and answered questions from the audience. This meeting gave the audience a good chance to learn about the most challenging motor rally in the world. Many grasp the opportunity to take photos with their heroes.
With the end of ISPO China, CORA is going to embark on the 2008 season with significant efforts to better serve and support the retailers in China . Stay tuned for more exciting CORA events in the coming months.
