Uvex has set up a representative office in Shanghai , and held the opening ceremony in Germany Center on June 19 th 2007.
Uvex enjoys 80 years history from its foundation in 1926 and began to engage in protective eyewears and goggles after the World War II. Starting from1950s, Uvex were the supplier of world top athletes. In 1970s, Uvex mainly specialized in products of winter sports. While in 1980s Uvex branched into motorcycle and bicycle field. This time around, Uvex setting up representative office in China shows it strong determination in expanding Chinese market.
Uvex attached great importance to the establishment of the rep office in China. The president of Uvex came to China in person. The consul general of the consulate general of Germany in Shanghai, the officials of Shanghai government and many major medias were all invited to the ceremony. In addition, to demonstrate the purpose of ¡°To provide the world top athletes with protective gears¡±, Uvex also invited the Secretary General of China Ski Association. (CSA) , the first Winter Olympic gold medal winner of China Han Xiaopeng, the free skiing silver medal winner Li Lijuan. The participation of the two athletes made the event more colorful.
At this ceremony, Uvex and National Chinese (level one) Freestyle and Snowboarding team had signed a supply agreement. According to this agreement, Uvex will provide them protective gears in the national and international competitions.
